Pests are a common problem prevailing in every home. These are the household mickeys with a long tail having brown, grey and black fur. Some measures to prevent rodents from entering your home helping in safer living are as follows-
1. The most important step in keeping rodents at bay is cleanliness. Rodents do not like cleanliness and will not be found in clean places, kitchens, and other places. 
2. Improve the sanitary condition of your house and deprive rodents of food, bread, and other eatable items. This will help in keeping rodents at bay. 
3. Repair leaky pipes and other fittings. Places filled with moisture are comfortable for rodents to live in. 
4. Encase all food items in a tight container. Rodents love food and do not live in places that are 
food – deprived. 
5. Keep cooking areas, grills, clean. No piece of food item should be left open overnight. 
6. Keep sinks, garbage bins clean of moisture. Moisture helps in providing shelter to rodents.
7. Keenly inspect places infested by rodents keeping the focus on areas of vulnerability.
8. While pest control team is working, keenly monitor your facility for pest activities and offer operational changes enabling in the removal of rodents more efficiently.
9. Repair cracks in walls, foundations and other places from which rodents can enter.
10. Rodents’ repellents may also be used. Both natural and chemical based rodents’ repellents are also available in the market and also vary in effectiveness. Some are also fragrance based. Some smell of plants, and other fragrances. But these fragrant repellents are less attractive to rodents. However, you can select one according to your need. 
11. Eliminate harborages’ for rodents and confine rodent activity for enhancement of disinfestations work of rodents.
